Christmas & New Year The Light of the Nativity From: Saturday 5 December 2009 To: Wednesday 6 January 2010 This eight metre deep Nativity scene will be set up outside the chapel of San Luis Obispo in Valencia Cathedral. Over 600 items and 2000 animals are to be found here and this year there is a figure of an elephant. The Lonja de la Seda - The Silk Exchange From: Sunday 1 November 2009 To: Thursday 18 November 2010 Valencia's Silk Exchange, in the Plaza del Mercado, was declared a World Heritage Site in 1996 by UNESCO. It was built in the 15th century and features some truly magnificent architecture. The festival of Music, History & Art takes place here in late November. Bioparc Valencia Every day Situated in the Parque de Cabecera Avda Pío Baroja 3 this is the replacement for the Valencia Zoo that was in the Royal Gardens. The concept of the Bioparc is that the animals live within recreated 'natural' habitats that include plants and landscapes similar to the natural ecosystems. The first phase is devoted to Africa, with savannah and equatorial forest and the animals and plants to be found there and it will be extended to include South East Asia and the Neotropics.
